Character Design

For my final project, I created detailed character designs to represent my three main characters visually. These designs focus on their unique appearances, outfits, and hairstyles, which reflect the different periods they come from. The characters span two distinct timelines; the 1980s and 2024, so I crafted separate mood boards for each era. These mood boards helped capture the essence of the periods, influencing the design choices and ensuring each character’s look aligns with their respective timeline.

I want the 1980s look to be all about bold, vibrant colours and classic styles that scream '80s. Think oversized shirts, high-waisted jeans, and big accessories. The hairstyle should be big too, with lots of volume and dramatic waves or curls, just like the era’s fun, bold vibe. The style really matches the character’s personality, showing how they’ve been influenced by the energetic and experimental fashion of the '80s.

I want the 2024 look to be more modern and laid-back. The character’s style should be sleek and minimalistic, focusing on clean lines and neutral tones with pops of colour. Their outfits should be trendy, casual pieces like oversized hoodies, skinny jeans, tights, and stylish sneakers. I want the hairstyle to be Curly to imply that she looks like the girl from the 1980s. This look really reflects the character’s more modern, relaxed personality.
